9-year-old boy dies after being accidentally shot by sister
Mother could face additional charges, police say
Canton’s police chief said the 9-year-old boy died in the hospital Thursday, one day after the shooting.
Canton Public Schools Superintendent Gary Hannah confirmed that Ashton Walden was a second grader at Reuben B. Myers Canton School of Arts & Sciences.
Police said the children’s mother and her boyfriend left Ashton, his 10-year-old brother and their 2-year-old sister inside the car while they visited a friend. Police said the sister found a gun under the seat and accidentally shot her brother in the head.
