Truly very sad. Suddenly.
Bob was one of Winchester’s most known. We were class of 71, he played at UPenn under Chuck Daly and dedicated his sports life to helping kids enjoy sports. He wrote two books on kids and sport.
A great friend and good guy.

Sharing sad news – in the words my son Greg posted earlier this morning. Bob passed away suddenly last night:
“Bob Bigelow was a Winchester legend. He played for the Celtics, taught kids basketball, and rumor has it he took on the Winchester varsity basketball team 5 on 1 and beat them. Most importantly he was a kind, generous man who I have known my entire life.
The world just lost a great guy.
RIP Bob, you got next on the pickup game up there.”

Ed Furey wrote
Tragic. Bob was a great guy and friend with a wonderful sense of humor. So sad.

So saddened by this tremendous loss, the kindest, most positive and engaging person you could ever know. Always enjoyed sharing a slush at the WSTC with you Bob. You will be greatly missed. Sending love and light and sincere condolences to Nancy and the family. RIP big guy.

I am heartbroken for Nancy because I know what it feels like to wake up in the morning and know that the love of your life is gone and nothing will ever be the same! Bob was a wonderful person and we should all try to live through his example

Deb Fichera wrote
What a loss! Stephanie thank you for posting the YouTube piece, every parent and coach should watch it…. He was a legend .

Richard Colozzi wrote
This is such shocking and sad news. Bob was truly one of my favorite people….a sentiment that I am sure will be repeated countless times in the days to come. He had that special knack of treating everybody that he came in contact with as if they were his best friend.
I will miss seeing him at the Town Pantry and at the Swim Club’s “alumni”
gatherings.
Marylou and myself send our thoughts and prayers to Nancy and her family.
Bob will be missed by so many people.
