Bruce Fleisher Death – Obituary News: Bruce Fleisher has died .
We are sad to report that Bruce Fleisher has passed away, according to the following statements posted on social media on September 23. 2021.
Gene Smith 1h · Watching the Ryder Cup coverage on the Golf Channel and Rich Lerner just reported that Bruce Fleisher died today. My heart dropped. Bruce was a friend and wonderful person. After Bruce turned 50 he started his Senior Tour career with us at Key Biscayne and won. He played the following week in Sarasota and won. He is still the only player who has ever won his first two tournaments on the PGA Tour Champions. He won a total of 18 times on the Senior Tour and never changed. Nice guy when he started and nice guy when he went home. One memory that still resonates with me is when we were playing in Hawaii one year. He knew our staff usually enjoyed dinner together and asked me if he could join us one evening. The only time in my 24 years with the tour that a player asked to have dinner with our staff. After drinks were delivered to the table and meals had been ordered, Bruce asked each of us to spend a few minutes and tell him where we were from, what we did before we joined the tour and what we hoped to be doing ten years from now. He truly cared about who we were as individuals. My prayers are with his wonderful wife, Wendy and their family.

So sorry to hear this! As a senior in high school I caddied for Bruce in the Byron Nelson in Dallas at Preston Trail’s in 1974. He was a great guy and everyone like him. Our paths crossed again in 1999 as I was Director of Golf at Springhouse Golf Club at Opryland in Nashville, site of the Bell South Sr Classic and I shared that story with him. We had another wonderful week that that year! True gentleman and very humble as he had some personal troubles with his daughter having serious health problems.

Bruce was a great guy. Every time our paths crossed, he always took time to talk with me and ask about my shows. We conducted a few exhibitions together and what fun it was to team up with Bruce. And I will always remember when he was invited to the Masters and the Invitation has a note with it. “Leave your frayed hemmed slacks at home”. He also shared his belief in the Lord with me during our talks so I know I will see Bruce again. When the Lord returns, we will visit Augusta National with our jeans. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Met Mr. Fleisher when he played on the PGA Tour and again later while he was a Sr. Tour player! Always showed interest in those he was with….funny how we both carried the nickname of “flash”! A superior human being!
NOT AN OBITUARY .
