His delivery and on-air presence helped many people get out of danger in some of the worst storms to hit Southwest Georgia.
Cade Fowler 12h · It is hard to find words when you lose a good friend. This morning many of us are struggling to do just that. I met Chris Nisinger when I started at WALB in 2007. We worked the weekend shift together during a bygone era of TV news when co-workers weren’t just colleagues – they were family. Chris was hilarious! I remember being on the anchor desk reading the news and he would pop up behind the camera and do whatever he could to try and make me laugh while on camera He was the life of any party and made a stressful job fun. But beyond that, he was a hell of a meteorologist. He was on air during some of the worst storms to hit Southwest Georgia. He was smooth and calm in his delivery and I’m sure his forecasting helped many get out of the way of danger. There no telling how far his talents could have taken him. While his passion was weather, that was outweighed by the love he had for his son, Brandon. I’m thankful I was able to connect with Chris in his final days. We shared a lot of laughs and a lot of tears. The last thing I told him was “See you again someday.” Rest easy buddy and, if you can, send us a cool breeze.
