Met Johnny Major a few times as a kid in Memphis at Big Orange Club events. Nice, gracious, friendly. As a 10-year old I mentioned the upcoming Memphis State game would be easy. He said “Son, none of them are easy. You have to work hard for every single win.” RIP a VFL Legend

Johnny Major was a local legend in Lynchburg (where he was born) and in Franklin County (where he played high school football for his dad at Huntland). It hadn’t been too long ago I saw Majors and Fulmer eating together at John T BBQ on the square in Winchester TN. RIP
