Cyclist Dead, Biker Arrested After Shooting in Rickenbacker Causeway Today.
The Miami Police are investigating a shooting incident that claimed the life of a cyclist who was riding a bicycle on the Rickenbacker Causeway where he was shot following a confrontation with a motorcyclist .
The shooting incident which shut down the eastbound lanes of the bridge that carries traffic to Key Biscayne happened around 6.AM , according to the Miami Police.

The victim was transported to the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in a critical condition but died later at the hospital. Police has arrested one man linked the shooting as investigation continues.
“Somewhere during that exchange of words, shortly after, there was a gunshot fired, and there was an individual that was shot,” Miami Police Commander Freddie Cruz told reporters at the scene, according to a report by the sun-sentinel.com
Also a viral Facebook video that has since been taken down showed the confrontation between the biker and the cyclist , the video showed the biker and the cyclist engaging in some type of heated argument that led to the shooting.
Rickenbacker Causeway Road Closed
The road where the incident happened was closed after the shooting, according to this statement posted on twitter.
There is no alternate route. I was trying to get work on Virginia Key… Rickenbacker is a single point of failure for Virginia Key and Key Biscayne. My alternate route was to eventually get out of line and go back home!

The Miami Police Department also confirmed that statement .
