1Sad to announce the sudden passing today of former NYPD homicide detective and radio talk show host Dan Conry. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dan over the past few years and he’s also a friend of the Waterbury P.D. I had a conversation with Dan about a year or so ago and come to find out he was a member of the NYPD Pipe Band who played at the funeral for Walt Williams. They loaded up four buses and drove up from NYC to play and pay tribute to him. When we were talking about it he remembered every detail and said it was one of the largest and most touching services he ever attended.

Dan was a cop’s cop and would do anything to help those in need. He was also an extreme wise guy and had everyone in tears with his humor. His radio audience around the country is missing him today. I know tonight you’re making everyone laugh in heaven. RIP my friend! ❤️🍺

I enjoyed Dan;s shows on Milwaukee radio for his goofy enthusiasm that was most appreciated. He almost made me like cops. May god bless him at the gate. Come to think of it, the maniacal gate was a gas. I figured him to be thirty years younger.

Dan was one of the best anywhere, bar non period. I wish he would have written a book of his experiences it would be a treasure. I could go on and on but will leave it at that. RIP! You will be missed.

God Bless you my fellow potato picking mic, I loved listening to you on the radio, you were and still are the best fill in host for Pat Walsh on kbhk. I hope you and your mom are having a great time, and I know, no need to ask, Jesus is taking care of you and your mom. We Irish love our mum’s very much. Thank You So Much Dan for coming into our lives, there is alot of us who never knew you, and we will miss you a great deal. God be with you always my brother. Sir Richard, the Obarry Clan.

I am so sad today to hear about the passing of Dan Conry. I looked forward to listening to him every Sunday afternoon on WISN but I’ve noticed he’s not been on lately and wondered why. I know he had overcome some serious health issues in the past but always had an upbeat attitude no mater what he was talking about and of course mixed humor every chance he got. I’m so sorry for the family but also for his listening audience. He was truly one of a kind. RIP Dan

If I happened to be in a blue mood Dan Conry always would bring me out of it! I enjoyed listening to him on the radio more than words can say. He was funny, fierce, kind and giving. The world of talk radio has lost a great one. I have no doubt he is making Jesus and the Saints laugh now. Rest in peace dear man. This is not good-bye, it’s see you later!

One of the best talk show hosts I’ve ever listened to. And I’ve heard a lot of talk hosts. Always funny and I never could figure out why he was not a regular daily 2 hour host (say, from 9-11 AM weekdays). While he was on Sundays (if not pre-empted for sports) I never missed his show to lift my spirits, make me laugh and enjoy his common sense views of the latest political news. I will truly miss hearing his voice. Rest in peace, Dan. You will not be forgotten.

I am so sad to hear about Dan Conry’s death. I only heard about it tonight while listening to one of the shows he often guest hosted for on Sacramento’s KFBK Pat Walsh show. I just searched his name and read about his passing. He was a wonderful person to listen to and he had great stories and humor. I was always happy to hear him substitute for Pat and John McGiness.
I am sorry for Dan’s loss to his family and friends. He will be a missed voice on the airwaves.
