Dan Kenneth Kelly has died, according to a statement posted online on Jul. 23, 2020.
We learned of the deceased through the following tribute posted on social media.,
Dan Kenneth Kelly, long time fiddler with the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band passed away last night from a heart attack. Words can’t accurately describe the shock, sadness and sense of loss we’re all feeling right now. Dan loved playing music and played everyday. His joy was watching the many students he’d teach and show how to play the fiddle. It was something near and dear to his heart. Keep his family in your thoughts and definitely send up a prayer for his sweet wife, Cheryl, to give her strength through the coming days. We’ll meet again on far side bank of Jordan.

Like so many of Dan’s friends and acquaintances, I’m saddened and taken off guard to hear of Dan’s passing today. I was lucky to know him and be able to pick with him on a handful of occasions. In all of our many meetings, though most were just of a few moments, I don’t ever remember him *not* saying, “it was sure good to see you, Jeff”. I’ll miss him, and grieve for and with his family; yet in sadness, I rejoice in the hope and knowledge of the triumph and surpassing worth Dan has being now found in Christ!
