Death and Obituary : Officer Nate Lyway In Memory of officer Cody Holt, officer David Dorn, officer Michael J Mosher.
EDITED (Please read the entire post)
Eternal rest to the LEOs that have died during the riots, following the tragic death of George Floyd: Trooper George Baker, Officer Cody Holt, Officer Nate Lyway, Officer David Dorn, and Officer Michael J Mosher. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest In peace.
* EDIT (4:13 pm PT) We have been informed that all died recently, but only one of these LEO’s died during the riots. Here is the factual information. We apologize:
Michael Moser was a cop in Overland Park, KS. He did not die in the line of duty or in the riots. He was off duty on his way to work last month when he witnessed a hit and run and chased after the driver who eventually stopped and shot him. It was very sad, but it was not riot related.
Cody Holt was shot and killed May 27, 2020 after Colt responded as backup to save his fellow officers who were under heavy gunfire while serving eviction-related paperwork.
Officer Nate Lyday, 24, was shot and killed on May 28 after responding to a domestic violence call.
Trooper George Baker succumbed to injuries sustained on May 20th, 2020, when he was struck by a Hammond patrol car while removing stop sticks from the roadway during a vehicle pursuit.
Only one of these officers died during the riots. All are tragic and sad deaths but the riots can’t be blamed for them.
We pray for them.
