My favorite place was always on your shoulders. It makes me smile knowing McCoy will be there with you; right there on your shoulders. It wasn’t always perfect but I wouldn’t change it for the world. You taught me more than you’ll ever know and I hope that I make you proud. Kick back and enjoy the eternal sunshine. Till I see you again – I love dad.

Extremely saddened to hear the news of Matt Keough’s passing. He was one of the first “stars” I got to see play live when I was a kid. Saw him set a record for most losses by a pitcher in a season in 79, then crush it under Billy Martin. RIP Matt

Matt Keough had a special place in my memory for the same reason as Terry Francona, Dick Schofield, Buddy Bell, and a few others: I had his baseball cards, and my dad had his dad’s baseball cards. It was a fun father/son connection. Sad to hear about his death.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Matt Keough. One of the Billy Ball 5 Aces, remember seeing him throw 14 innings for a win during his epic 20 complete game season. And will never forget being present when he was seriously injured in 1992, which tragically altered his life.
