Now that it’s public can I say thank you and goodnight to Derek Ogg @lastmanleaving ? He was an extraordinary man of many parts. He persuaded me to come to the Bar with this line “there’s nothing finer than an unexpected adjournment leading to a long lunch with a friend” Xx

Derek Ogg. What to say? If I had been charged with murder, but innocent, he would have been my number one choice of silk. A colossal loss to the legal profession. But also a guy who made a much wider contribution to the cause of progress.

Ach, farewell then Derek Ogg. I well remember a time long before this pandemic when we were coping with what the ignorant and hateful dubbed the ‘gay plague’. What a giant in the battle against prejudice you were xxx. pic.twitter.com/mvuMTYYGmV
