Desmond Guinness has died at the age of 88, the wonderful public treasure of Castletown House is part of his legacy as is The Irish Georgian Society, according to a statement posted online on Aug. 20, 2020.

Extraordinary man. His mother Diana Mitford and Oswald Mosley his step-father (married at Goebbels country estate in 1936 with Hitler as guest of honour) Desmond’s legacy is the awakening in this country of our architectural heritage.
