Dick Gallagher was a unique man with a compassion for the youth of Western New York, whether it be athletics or fighting addiction and he will be greatly missed. No one and I mean no one, has ever done more to promote high school football in the region. #Dickgallagher pic.twitter.com/RwNqBWzBGc

Sad day for all of WNY as Dick Gallagher passed away.
He gave himself not just to local high school football but also worked tirelessly with Kids Escaping Drugs and Renaissance House. Friday drives into school won't be the same without hearing his report on Kiss 98.5

So sad to hear about the passing of Dick Gallagher. He did so much for sports, especially football, in Western New York but beyond that he was a great human being. He will be sadly missed! Our thoughts and prayers with the Gallagher family!!!

I didn’t get a chance to deal with Dick Gallagher very often.
But I am well aware of his reputation as being a kind and friendly giant in this community, both in high school sports and charitable causes.
He won’t be easily replaced.
And may he rest in peace.

Sad news tonight. Dick Gallagher has passed away. You will not find a man who did more to enhance the lives of high school student athletes or help those battling addiction than this gentleman. He will be sorely missed. He was 79.@wgrz
