The news shocked me when I heard earlier and I’m incredibly sad . Over my 22 years of DJing, listening to Leslie on the radio and having the honor of spinning with him at the clubs will be cherished memories. After my stuff was stolen in June, Leslie was one of the DJs that actually took the time to reach out and call me to see if I was ok and offered to help. I can’t express how much that meant to me. You will be missed.RIP Leslie Djlp Perez .

Saying a prayer and thinking about the great one, Leslie Perez, and his family. We had a long friendship and I loved how much he loved the dj culture…. to its core. He studied the best and practiced his heart out to be one of the best. I loved how he took me to school one day and showed me how to use my DJ equipment as he went into the world of the matrix as a DJ. He could play multiple formats with ease and knew the history of the records he played. He had so much love and respect for music. He loved his family and his friends, and if you had the privilege to get close enough to him, he would make you laugh all day long but take u too school too.Leslie— I respected the way you spoke your mind and shared your thoughts of how the dj culture should be and I love the fact that you did so much to create positive change and move things forward. U also shared knowledge with younger djs for the future. When we look back at all the work that he achieved, you will discover that Leslie Perez is truly one of the greatest DJs of the Bay Area. Listen to the recordings, remember what he was like when you danced to him mixing … truly always epic! I’m going to miss our late-night conversations just talking about beats, rhymes, mixes or a song that you and I were searching for to make that perfect edit.Leslie— you were always a DJ’s DJ. I knew I could count on you to make things happen when you could and I can’t thank you enough for being my friend. There’s so many souls that you’ve touched and inspired and we will continue to keep your memory alive. https://www.mixcloud.com/Djlp1/Rest In Peace and in the Mix.
I look forward to hearing all the great stories out there about our little brother in music Leslie Djlp Perez

just a little mini rant so people understand the true context of the photo. I can almost always take pictures with the top djs and performance acts at the club i’m working at, but being asked by that dj to take a photo with them in the middle of their performance shows an amount of mutual respect and a true sharing of the stage that can’t be overlooked.
