Family and friends are mourning the death of Dr. Lewis Maharam who recently passed away.
We learned of the deceased through the following tribute posted on social media.
We mourn the loss of Dr. Lewis Maharam, aka the Running Doc, one of our sport’s greatest contributors. Maharam served as NYRR Medical Director overseeing medical operations as the @nycmarathon grew from a 24,000 person race in 1989 to 43,000 in 2009.
