EJ Osborne Death – Dead : Obituary : BBC’S Money for Nothing Presenter Passed Away.
Woke up this morning to hear the tragic news thatEJ Osborne
of ‘Hatchet And Bear’ had passed away
There are those of you that know him and others that don’t, EJ was one of the warmest and friendliest people you’d ever meetA talented full time green woodworker who appeared on the BBC as well as publishing books …behind the scenes battling cancer …a battle he lost last nightLast time we spoke was about two months ago where I checked up on him to see how he was keeping, and in his usually bubbly self said he was fine and getting on with lifeNot gonna lie, I was shook up this morning, I’m the same age as EJ so spent a good while reflecting on my life thus far and all that I have to grateful for, regardless of what’s happening in the world
I’m reminded of the Steve Jobs quote “Treat each day as if it were your last …because someday you’ll be right”
Cause of Death.
The following are some tributes posted on social media to honor the life and the legacy of the deceased.

My last chat was about a month or so ago. We’d been chatting about the tomatoes he’d been growing, northern soul music I enjoyed listening to. I’d sent him a list of YouTube videos to listen to. I hope it was while he was in that greenhouse?
A very sad day Zed.
I’d first met in London, I’m hearing that chuckle now.

Sorry to hear this news, even if I didn’t know the guy, as a person living with cancer I can fully sympathise with the poor guy……and positivity and enjoying the simple and good things in life is a lesson for all to take away from this tragic loss of a young life.

Cancer shouldn’t make you reflect my friend as we all have a limited time on earth and choice of how we go about this and who we choose to share this with. In any case zed im sorry for your loss.

My condolences to anyone here who knew him, a sad loss indeed. I never got chance although I recently sent EJ a message via Instagram to thank him because it was his book that got me started in my Spoon Carving journey a few years back. I had never had any interest in any type of Wood working, and didn’t even know Spoon carving was a thing, spotted a copy of ‘Spoon Carving’ and that was IT!!!
I have spent some time pretty much every day over the last six months during ‘lockdown’ at my chopping block, Axe and Knives in hand! The next one will be for him.
Thank you EJ for a beautiful gift! I see here I am not the only one you blessed with it
