Elgin Baylor Death -Dead – Obituary – Cause of Death :Elgin Baylor has Died.

Elgin Baylor has died , according to the following statements posted on social media on March 22. 2021.

NBA  2h  · NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement today regarding the passing of Elgin Baylor: “Elgin Baylor set the course for the modern NBA as one of the league’s first superstar players. An 11-time All-Star during his Hall of Fame career with the Lakers, Elgin produced remarkable results with his athleticism and groundbreaking style of play, including setting an NBA Finals record with 61 points in Game 5 of the 1962 championship series – a performance made all the more extraordinary by the fact that he had spent part of that season away from his team while on active duty in the Army. “In addition to his legendary playing career, Elgin was a man of principle. He was a leading activist during the height of the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s and an influential voice among his fellow players. After his retirement, Elgin remained a part of the NBA family as both a coach and an executive, imparting his wisdom to generations of NBA talent. Elgin will be deeply missed, and we send our thoughts and prayers to his wife, Elaine, his family and friends.”

Rest in Peace, Legend. The one who pioneer a greater role and impact for SF position.

Charis Charopoulos

One of the cornerstones of our game and very underappreciated by the latest couple of generations of fans.

Louis Addesso
RIP! He inspired me to play the game! I used to try to mimic some of his moves.

Yoann Jean-Marie Shmuntal Larrieu
First ever high-flying, hyper scoring perennial All-Star type wing player in the league. The original. Dr.J, Gervin…all came after. One of the very most significant players in league history.

Rodrigo Chavez
Chick Hearn said he was the best player he’d ever seen. Better than Jordan. Crazy talent

Nelson Rosa Sr.
May God bless your soul. one of the best forward that had moves like the doctor J.

David Stroud
What a kind & gracious man. I met him at my cousin’s wedding. He treated everyone like family & he too was a guest.

Elliott Strowbridge
Never got his just do from NBA fans because he didn’t win an championship. And because of the era of basketball he played in. A lot of NBA fans don’t respect players from the 60s. Sad. He was the best small forward of his era. And the pioneer of the high flyers NBA players like Julius Erving, Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan, etc… One of the best small forwards ever.
Condolences to Elgin Baylor’s family and friends.

Got to meet the legend! We were at the LA Forum on Elgin Baylor night back in the 70s, I remember they were playing the Milwaukee Bucks with Bobby Dandridge and Lew Alcindor!

Jeremiah Chairez
I only know of him. I’m too young. But I just realized something that’s probably been realized before: his first and last name are both brands of vintage watches…..Interesting.
