George Tiggle Death, Obituary : Former NMH Advancement Staff Member Killed in Car Accident.

Friends and families are mourning the death of George “Ge Tiggs” Tiggle who recently passed away after a fatal car accident.

We learned of the deceased through the following tribute posted on social media by

With great sadness, we regret to share that NMH alum and former NMH Advancement staff member, George “Ge Tiggs” Tiggle ’94, passed away this weekend after being involved in a car accident. George first arrived on campus in the fall of 1993 as a post-grad, and has remained an invaluable member of the NMH community and family ever since.

George served as Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Giving for nearly 3 years (from 2015-2018), where he was instrumental in developing and coordinating many NMH alumni events, including the “Alumni of Color Initiative” and the “Our Stories” program, which offered alums in Boston, New York City, Washington D.C. and Atlanta an opportunity to share their NMH experiences with each other.

This past June, while George was back at NMH celebrating his 25th Reunion, that very program came full circle, as he served on the “Our Stories: Alumni of Color” panel with four other alums. This gave him the unique opportunity to share his appreciation and gratitude toward the faculty and staff members who made his NMH experience possible, and how he was able to pay that forward by helping others get to NMH.

George was an incredibly proud alum, not only at NMH, but at Union College as well. He returned to campus frequently as an alum, and even became a mentor to several NMH alums who also went on to Union. George was an avid sports fan, fisherman, and traveler, visiting fellow NMH alums on the road whenever he could.

George worked in education his entire life, most recently at SUNY Albany as the Director of Development for Student Affairs; truly carrying out D.L. Moody’s vision of educating through the head, heart and hand. George’s passion for life won’t ever be forgotten by his friends and family, and his presence at future NMH events will be deeply missed, especially on the dance floor; he’ll surely be with us in spirit.

Please join us in keeping George’s family in your thoughts, including his wife Kennie, his daughter Kailee, and nephew Khamari (a current NMH senior), and feel free to share any memories/photos you have of/with George. (More info on services/donations to follow.)
