RIP Glenn Beckert, THE 2b of my childhood. He was 4x all-star, led NL in fewest strikeouts per at-bat 5x & won Gold Glove. In 1971, he hit .342! Very underrated cuz he played w Banks, Jenkins, Williams, Santo etc. but he was outstanding & lived in Palatine like me so was my fave! pic.twitter.com/MkrxfT7zTt

Glenn Beckert was such a wonderful storyteller and engaging man. He was a great second baseman, four-time All-Star, and hit .342 in 1971. Loved him. Any conversation with him was a great. pic.twitter.com/Gb9wSyAKOc

Here is Mr. Beckert and me at your booth at Cubs Convention 2-3 years ago. With a smile on his face, all he talked about was how much he hated the Mets and how you guys should have beat them in 1969. He was very passionate about the game and his teammates. RIP Glenn Beckert pic.twitter.com/gn6qKypv6u
