Greg Cardi- Your presence always left me happier and with a smile on my face. You constantly had a random question ready to pose, out of nowhere, at the weirdest times.
Two seconds before we walk on stage to play a concert and “Hey Autumn, how do you play in tune?” You somehow convinced me to change the Oktoberfest 2017 shirt color to green because you were so fed up with every shirt from New World being blue, and CAN WE PLEASE JUST HAVE A SHIRT IN A DIFFERENT COLOR PLEASE.

I lived in your old apartment and had to describe it as “Greg’s old apartment” because everyone instantly knew where that was.

I tried to teach you how to dance once at Bodega. For the rest of the year you just had to tell me I was a good dancer at least once a day, usually in the middle of rehearsal or inserted randomly without context into a conversation you weren’t even a part of.
You cared so much, and tried so hard and spent your time telling the people around you how great they were.

You were insanely talented, and I was so excited to see where you were going. I’ll forever miss your amazing one of a kind self. Rest in Peace Greg, I promise I’ll finally figure out how to play in tune.

As I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the passing of Greg Cardi, I was having a tough time deciding what to post that would cheris his memory.

I remembered a conversation I had with him a few days before he graduated high school where he told me he was scared to go to Colburn. When I asked why exactly, he said he was scared that he would be lonely and not make any friends.

I will share with you all what I told him back then: that it’s impossible for him not to make friends everywhere he went. In fact, even if he tried his damn best to not make friends, he’d still unintentionally make friends in the process anyway.
That’s how I will remember him. Rest In Peace, Greg.
