RV Traveling the USA April 29 at 3:16 PM  · Yesterday was a very busy day for us. We visited the Hoover Dam, Lake Meade and Vegas. We have been feeling under the weather so we needed to fit alot of the visiting all in one day. We definitely would rather do things a little slower but sometimes you just have to do it. Our first stop in the day was the Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. Constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression. It’s construction was the result of a massive effort by thousands and cost over one hundred deaths. The dam was constructed to control floods, provide irrigation and produce hydroelectric power. The Hoover Dam impounds Lake Meade, the largest reservoir in the USA.
