Former Lee-Montgomery standout and UAB football signee Jamari “Chop” Smith died in a drowning incident Wednesday afternoon.
Bishop John Snyder High School and AAU Game Elite basketball coach Russell Powell and former Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson shared the news via Twitter.
I can’t even believe I’m saying this R.I.P. Jamari Smith the good really do die young. When I was in Montgomery, Y’all house was my second home. Dang man!!! My heart goes out to Keena Smith-Talley bc she LOVED you sooooooo much. May God help her find peace in this horrible tragedy You hurt my lil feelings with this one Chop 😩
