Legends Drum & Bugle Corps 1h · We are deeply saddened to hear of the recent loss of James Pluth, who unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. James served as Audio Supervisor, Front Line Arranger, and Sound Designer for Legends since 2015. He was an outstanding composer that brought his ‘Pluth’ elements into each design session which elevated each production to a sonic atmosphere of sound. He helped Legends achieve new heights through his artistic contributions and creative expectations for the advancement of our electronics program. ‘Team Science’ quickly developed, which became a household name for our audio team whether you were an electronics performer, audio staff, or volunteer. James cared deeply about the members and always made sure they were provided with challenges they needed to discover their potential and who they were capable of becoming. His commitment to the Marching Arts Audio community helped advance individuals and programs with their electronics footprint and you could always count on him to provide a solution for any issue that needed resolution. Recently, he was appointed to the DCI Artistry/Competition Steering Committee, which played a key role in the 2021 DCI Celebration events. He did whatever he could to make sure the corps had a positive experience and that their productions could be enjoyed in person or from home. “James was always forward thinking and cared deeply about the evolution and growth of Legends,” says Ibe Sodawalla, CEO of Legends Performing Arts. “I could always count on James to see through any project, no matter the size or scope, in working to achieve our ambitious goals as an ensemble. He enjoyed being with the corps and sharing this time together with his wife, Lindsey Schueller, Visual Designer and Supervisor since 2014. They were an unstoppable duo whose love for the activity impacted many and James only grew stronger with Lindsey by his side.” We send our love to Lindsey and James family through this challenging time. If you have been impacted by James and would like to show your support, we have put together a virtual card where you can contribute a note, story, photo, and/or video message. Contribute your message at: https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/0b2WXgQ5 We will present this to Lindsey in the coming days in an effort to help her heal by celebrating James and the joy he has brought to the lives and communities he has touched. Rest in peace, James. YK
