We would like to thank everybody for the enormous support you have shown us during this difficult time.
I just heard some sad news about a friend I knew from shakers on Clark . Jason Zdebski worked together when I was at 3160 and shakers on Clark. Jason was one of the nicest, most genuine, kindest, most upbeat people I’ve ever met. Truly a great guy My heart is broken, along with the hearts of all of his family and friends. 💔 my heart goes out to his family on this sad day.
The following are some tributes posted on social media to honor the life and the legacy of the deceased.
Our hearts are heavy with the news of your passing, Jason Zdebski. You were ALWAYS such a warm-hearted, fun-loving & generous soul. The world has truly lost a wonderful gem of a man. I’m in tears as I write these words and think of all the fun times I experienced at Shakers on Clark with you and so many comics, patrons and staff. Sending prayers of emotional strength and love to all your family and friends.
I’m so saddened to think about the loss of Jason Zdebski. He created a space that felt like an extension of MCL Chicago and the Annoyance Theatre that personally gave me a place that felt like Cheers. I cannot believe that I won’t ever see his face behind the bar while people scramble to use the best photo booth in the city, order one of the thousands of flavors of Long Islands, or hear his voice as he introduces one of the many shows he encouraged to perform at the bar. He supported artists and this is an incredible loss. It won’t be the same without him. Hug your freinds and family today. Cherish the places you feel safe in this world. Tip your bartenders/servers/artists an exra dollar. Jason would’ve wanted that today.
You offered yourself and Shakers On Clark to our community and to my own personal artistic endeavors so freely and with so much joy and warmth. I owe you endless thanks. You were simply a mainstay of support that could always be relied upon for us actors, musicians, goofballs. We are all truly experiencing a great loss with your passing. When it comes to asking if any of us are making a difference in this world, You and everyone who loves you should know that You were one of the ones who did good for this world.
