I am sad to learn that @richiecole passed away today. After he mentioned me (or tried to 😀) in this video, we got in touch. We did hang out once an he was just as funny and thoughtful as he is in this clip. Cross the great divide in peace, Richie. https://t.co/ntF08nfgZK

Between Trump, COVID, murder hornets and losing Richie Cole it’s been a shit day

Richie Cole was one of my favorite saxophonists – the alto sound I always wanted to achieve. He rocked the Meyer 5 mouthpiece. Many years ago, I had the privilege of hearing him play and buying him several drinks. RIP

Richie Cole, a jazz sax player who’d been hittin’ his horn all around Pittsburgh, died today. It’s a big shock to my family, specifically my dad. Last week we received a chart Richie composed titled Omar Krasinski, which was his nickname for my dad.
