U.S. Vice Presidential hopeful , Senator Amy Klobuchar effectively pulled herself out of contention to be Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s running mate on Thursday, saying she felt that the historic moment required picking a woman of color.
“This is a moment to put a woman of color on that ticket, and there are so many incredible qualified women,” she said in an interview on MSNBC. “If you want to heal this nation right now – my party, yes, but our nation – this is sure a hell of a way to do it.”
Biden, who will take on Republican President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 election, is under pressure to pick a black woman as his understudy as racial tensions flare over instances of police brutality, including the videotaped death last month of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes. According to a report by Reauters.

Amy Klobuchar announces she would rather Joe Biden choose a woman of color as VP. That woman should NOT be Kamala Harris. As CA Attorney General, her office argued that non-violent offenders needed to be kept in prison for cheap labor. Text-book Prison Industrial Complex.

I can’t believe there are some Black people who actually believe Amy Klobuchar is taking herself out of the VP search because she is an ally of Black people! Klobuchar is an opportunist hack. She was told or found out that she was not going to get the position. Get serious.

Tbh I don’t care what Amy Klobuchar thinks about VP pick. I want the woman who has the best plans for POC. That’s Warren. Klobuchar of all ppl doesn’t speak for me. Also, seems she wasn’t frontrunner, so acting like she had it & stepped aside for a Black woman is a farce.

Aayana Presley is the most progressive African American woman in congress and she endorsed warren. Let’s get real, Amy Klobuchar had no support from POC and she’s only saying biden should pick a WOC out of pure jealousy and to advance her political career!
I have to say I love that Amy Klobuchar has dropped out, she would have been poison. I feel the thing she said about a woman of color was a bit of karma for @ewarren with some of her stunts (even if Warren’s platform is better than many). We got plenty of good choices @RepJayapal
