The Hastings Banner is with Kathy Huffman Keller. 4h · Thornapple Kellogg High School Assistant Principal Kevin Remenap died this morning on his way home from a spring break trip, the school district announced today. Kevin Remenap, the brother of district Superintendent Dan Remenap, “unexpectedly became ill and passed away on his way home from a spring break trip,” TK administrative assistant Erica Dudik wrote in an e-mail that was sent out to district parents this morning. “We do not have further information at this time; all we can share is the sad news of his passing.” Kevin Remenap had worked for the district since 2018. Before that, he taught science in Caledonia Community Schools for 17 years. “Counselors will be available for students at 4 p.m. Sunday at the high school,” Dudik wrote. “Additional communication will be coming soon regarding next week’s high school testing and school schedule, as well as the availability of school counselors throughout the week. “Please keep the Remenap family in your thoughts and prayers.”
The most amazing man I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. Rem was selfless, and left an everlasting impression on thousands. You will be seriously missed. Thank you for turning me into the man I am today. I’m in shock.
