Boyertown Athletics 4h  · Boyertown Athletics is sad to learn of the passing of Lee Mecherly. Lee was a longtime coach of baseball and basketball in the district and a true supporter and champion of our Student Athletes. He also coached the Boyertown Junior and Senior Legion Teams and coached at Penn State Berks. Lee was a great influence on all the young peoples lives he touched. He was tough but fair and loved. There also is a picture below of him early in the week with Toby Welk one of his Penn State Berks players who plays for the Bowie Bay Sox how fitting that he was on his way home from supporting one of his players. So sad. He was a caring, dedicated Bear whose presence on the sidelines or in the stands provided a tremendous boost to youth athletics. He will be deeply missed.

We used to see him at both of our grandsons games. He was a very dedicated person, coach to Boyertown. We could also see him as a fan sitting in the bleachers. After the games you would see him riding the tractor preparing the field for the next game. He will surely be missed by alot of people!!!
