Damn, I just read that we lost another legend yesterday, Leon Brown. Some might not know his name, but if you had the book “Pumping Iron” when you started your journey, you’ve seen Leon. The two small Black & white photos are from the book. The shot with me and Leon is early 80’s taken at a local contest.
Leon was part of the Better Bodies family in the 80s, but he was part of every hardcore 80’s NYC gym family in the 80’s. He and his girlfriend Danielle were welcome everywhere. Its not everyone that gets a personal video message from Arnold. The full video is on YT. Leon, you will be missed by all that knew and loved you.

A fun guy, Dennis Tinerino’s trip to Panama during a Revolution with a group of bodybuilders which was as frightening as it was hilarious Leon proved to be a solid brother. I will miss Leon’s smile, my condolences to Leon’s family.
Finally! I’m happy for Big Ramy. I’ve been following the sport for 8 years now and pretty much every year I have he’s been in and around the 6. He’s finally done it, brought the conditioning the judges have always said he needed to. Fair play for sticking at it and respect for getting your rewards.
Rip Leon Brown aka – legend Thats what we called him back in the day at World Gym. A lot can be said about this man , his accomplishments and what he was to many. I consider myself lucky to have known him, trained & posed with him and been his friend. You will be missed my brother! Chest & Back today in your honor , those that knew him , know that’s his favorite workout. #Legend #LeonBrown
