Deaths-Dead / Obituaries :
This is a developing story that Magic the Gathering Godzilla may have passed away.
We saw your statement on the Space Godzilla, Death Corona card. Do what you will, and I might be alone in this, but I don’t think you should change it. We appreciate the awareness and sensitivity however this was printed before all this started. There is no need to change the original name because of a terrible coincidence. Also, thank you for putting Godzilla in the game.
Entertainment news stopped sounding real about a month ago, but Wizards of the Coast having to issue a “Statement on SpaceGodzilla” because a Toho employee named his breath weapon the Corona Beam 26 years ago has to be the most unreal of them all. https://t.co/EsPUXyLBr5 pic.twitter.com/sJEisM72hN

Space Godzilla, Void Invader was originally named Space Godzilla, Death Corona (from Godzilla’s canon). Given the emergence of the coronavirus, it has been renamed on MTG Arena (and reprints) but will be the Death Corona in Ikoria’s first paper printing. #MTG #MTGIKO #MTGIkoria pic.twitter.com/61jWGVsYVU

SpaceGodzilla Magic The Gathering Card – Monstrous, otherworldly, and yet, visually feels as kingly as Godzilla himself. The art captures the space horror wondrously, and melds the tyrant landfall with the lushes Birth Island beautifully, like a conqueror arriving to new land pic.twitter.com/1GvyuDEpFj
