Such a classy humbled gentleman and great player of the Post Big Man Era. I’m the same age. Makes me think of living not existing. My condolences to his personal family and the NBA family. RIP

I believe I met him in San Diego in the early 80s. He was a very nice guy.
Loved Mark Eaton. An all time great defender and guy. I always wished his peak was later so the Jazz could have possibly won one off the Bulls.

So sad. The best defensive player in the post ever. One year he averaged over 5 and a half blocks every game. Average!! I remember he loomed over players and challenged them to shoot over him. A C Green was mercilessly blocked over and over one game and just shook his head in frustration. RIP
Always remember seeing him on the court with the Jazz when I was growing up in the ‘80s! Sad news
Mountain of a presence in the paint, intimidating blocker. RIP
U didn’t want to go up against him! U shot gonna get sent 2 the third row!
Man Mountain Mark Eaton. He used to give the Lakers fits in the late 80s. I heard he was a mechanic before joining the NBA.

Holds a record that most likely will never be broken. 5.6 BPG for a season is crazy. RIP big fella.
How sad. I was able to see him play live a couple of times. Then met him after a game. Very nice guy.. he also signed a couple cards for me through the mail. Always enjoyed watching him play on the 80’s. RIP Mark you will always be remembered.
