It never belonged to the people. It has always belonged to the highly-networked individuals who feel the nation won’t survive unless events are parsed by them alone. And as for the claim that it’s not ‘state-funded’; this is semantic sophistry with bells on.

Just a quick constitutional reminder for the BBC’s 100th anniversary: it belongs to the people of the UK. It doesn’t belong to the government. And, contrary to what the current Culture Secretary seems to think, it isn’t state-funded.

The BBC appears to reckon that it can still wriggle out of licence fee abolition. It cannot. Far too many of us see through its left-wing bias, wokery and anti-Britain positions and want the TV tax abolished.
