Friends and families are paying tributes on social media to Beloved Mel Devonne who recently passed away.

Born: Philadelphia, Pa . Mel Devonne is a veteran of 22 years in the radio industry and one of the architects of the “Quiet Storm” format.  Mel has worked at V103 in Chicago since 1990 and is also heard on over 50 cities nationwide and the Caribbean on “The Love Zone” via ABC radio Networks.  Mel Devonne’s ratings success in Chicago and Nationwide makes him one of the most respected evening personalities in the country.

Cause of Death.

We have no information at the moment on what cause the death of Mel Devonne , but according to the following information posted on Facebook, he was said to have suffered stroke before his death.

Just received the sad news that our brother, former V103 Chicago colleague and veteran syndicated Night Moods/Quiet Storm Air Personality Mel Devonne has passed away at age 61.😢

Mel was a renaissance man, author, documentary filmmaker, college basketball coach, world traveler and the consummate professional. Mel and I were born in the same year on the same day, something we always acknowledged when we worked together. Condolences to his family and many friends. Rest In Peace
