DEATH / OBITUARIES :Family and friends are mourning the death of Pete Babando who recently passed away.

We learned of the deceased through the following tribute posted on social media.

Sad news for old time hockey fans. Pete Babando, who scored the first Game 7 overtime goal in Stanley Cup Final history for the Red Wings in 1950, died Wednesday in Timmins, aged 94. The next year, his old Timmins pal Bill Barilko, had an OT Cup winner for the Leafs.
