The following are some tributes posted on social media to honor the life and the legacy of the deceased.
In loving memory of Regan Russell, a 26 year veteran animal activist, who was killed yesterday violently by a truck carrying pigs to their slaughter.
The lady holding the sign being interviewed is Regan Russell she was 65 when on Friday at the place this interview was made, she was run over and killed by a truck carrying pigs to their deaths.
This interview was at another time before the above mentioned incident.
The interview perfectly shows her character and she speaks of a recent making of a documentary about huskies dogs and of her activism since the 1970s this as much a tribute to her as others that will be made of her in the coming weeks.
She died doing what she has committed her life to outside her work.
The Save movement is in mourning for her at this present time all over the world, memorial save vigils are being organised everywhere for her.
Rest in peace Regan.
Please hear her speak, this is just an 11 minute video and she is inspirational without even trying.A fellow activist of ours – Regan Russell – died today in front of Fearman’s slaughterhouse for doing what she did best; Standing up for the animals. Raising…
Regan Russell was struck by a transport truck that was hauling pigs through the gates of Fearmans Pork slaughterhouse. “What happened to this activist is beyond tragic. She was a beautiful, beautiful woman who was kind and compassionate, loved animals, wanted the world to go vegan. She has been doing animal activism for years. She just spoke her mind, she was very articulate. She was a beautiful woman & I can’t believe she is dead. She’s an angel & she was giving thirsty pigs water.”It was a really sad week for animals and their advocates. First we heard that Ontario passed the Ag Gag law so that they can continue to abuse animals secretly, then yesterday kind soul Regan Russell was killed while showing poor animals the only few seconds of compassion they would ever receive. Now we are hearing that 500 puppies arrived in Toronto on a flight from the Ukraine with many dead and sick.
While it sometimes seems like it’s an uphill struggle, let’s remember the victories and fight harder than ever. “At the end of the day love and compassion will win.

The death of the 65-year-old activist comes just two days after the province passed controversial legislation that hiked fines for trespassing on farms and food-processing facilities and made it illegal to obstruct trucks carrying farm animals.”
