Robert Dale Maxwell was a United States Army combat soldier and a recipient of the United States military’s highest decoration for valor—the Medal of Honor—for his heroism in France during World War II , he has peacefully passed away.

He passed away at the age of 98. Maxwell was a longtime Bend resident and America’s oldest living Medal of Honor recipient, a close friend confirmed late Sunday night. according to ktvz news
