Sad news this week of the recent passing of Spanish musicologist, Galician-born José López Calo. His 1982 ‘La música medieval en Galicia’ got me started in early music, and led to my DM thesis on the Lugo Codex in 2013; I was lucky to meet him in NY in the 1990s.
