OMG NO, this is truly a sad for me as Terry Goodkind was my all time favorite author. I will remember all the laughs, sadness, lessons, morals, and all the emotions your books gave to me. The characters you brought into my life will be like friends and family forever. Your books were not only profoundly great but they were literally important to me and taught me lessons i needed to know for life. I am proud to say that i have read your intensely extensive Sword Of Truth Series all the way through 3 times in my life and turned so many people on to your books with all of those people falling in love with your work. I now think of a memorable part of one of your books where the Mord Sith lay dying and wanting to see the squirrels one more time before she passed. Thank you sir for your many many years of story telling and sharing them with us, you will be remembered as one of the greats. Brightest blessings to your loved ones on this sad sad day. For so many of us you will live on in those pages you so masterfully crafted for us and i will imagine you and Richard Rahl sitting by a roaring fire discussing the life long adventures you both had.

I found the Sword of Truth and learned the Wizard’s First Rule when I was barely 10 years old, in 1995. I grew up without a father, and I had to pick the characteristics from people in my life that I wanted to emulate and embrace. Finding this book and following this series as it unfolded was a literal God-send. The traits embodied by the characters in Terry’s books, like Richard, gave me a moral ideal to strive for. They gave me the courage to be strong, and to always speak out or stand up for what I believe in.
They gave me the resolve to always own my life and my destiny; and to sweat, bleed, fight, and sometimes be moved to tears for what I care about. There are times that Terry’s novels pulled me back from some very dark places in my life. I don’t know if I would have become the same man that I am today without these stories and characters. Learning of Terry Goodkind’s passing has rent a hole in my soul. My condolences go out to his family and friends, he – and the world he created – will always have a special place in my heart.
