Tom DiLorenzo Death -Dead – Obituary : Provost at UND Shot and Killed in Charlston, SC.

We regret to report that  Tom DiLorenzo has passed away after a shooting incident in charleston South Carolina after a shooting incident, according to to the following  reports posted on social media and other platforms today July 17, 2010.
Shocked and sad to hear my former colleague was killed. RIP Tom DiLorenzo– great, innovative, kind, Provost at UND; the first R1 Provost I worked with who supported faculty T&P for #OA #OER publishing.

A deadly attempted robbery this morning claimed the life of a man who just moved to Charleston with his wife, who is the new Provost for @CofC. Charleston Police are still looking for the two men in Tom DiLorenzo’s death.

My heart goes out to the DiLorenzo family and friends today. Tom began as UND Provost as I entered University Senate leadership, so I worked closely with him on higher ed governance issues for his first three years on campus. Such a tragic loss.
