We are sad to report that Tommy Peters founder and CEO of B.B. King’s Blues Club Memphis and Itta Bena on Beale Street, as well as president of Lafayette’s Music Room in Overton Square has died, according to the following statements posted on social media on September 6. 2021.
LaDonna Gales is with Eric Gales. 7h · Long post about a great man. Mr. Tommy Peters and the Gales family go back a long way but I can ONLY speak about my encounters with him. The past 9 yrs I haven’t been around my own family much due to road life so you’ve got to create family out there. He was definitely a part of our family. Tommy not only told me how much he love me for being in Eric’s corner but he and his wife held hands with us and prayed. We would visit with him and just talk about LIFE outside of music. He would always send random text messages to me to make sure everything was okay. Even when we had Covid he made sure we didn’t need anything. He would always say I have a surprise for you two and would be so excited. And wow, that man and his surprises were simply amazing. Just to receive a text message saying he love me was always enough. He always personalized relationships and made me feel on top of the world for simply being ME. Often times he would be in the crowd dancing as if no one else was there watching as EG played. And the times TeamEG performed he would make sure he got my attention and have the biggest smile on his face and give 2 thumbs up as he kept rocking to the beat. This guy has done alot for us that no one will ever know. We were looking forward to seeing him this month. One on one time with him was always a treat. I know he’s done alot for many but I had to say what he’s personally done for me. Often times I would see him standing back looking at us so proud. He always told E to take care of me because I’m his angel. I could go on and on but I can’t type anything else. I’m torn…. RIP TOMMY 173173 28 Comments Like Comment Share
