Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was verbally attacked on the capitol steps by Florida Rep. Ted Yoho. The exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, consisted of Yoho calling Ocasio-Cortez “disgusting” for recently connecting the dots between poverty and unemployment and an uptick in crime. “You are out of your freaking mind,” Yoho said. Today Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reacted after members of congress called on Ted Yoho to apologies to her over the verbal attack.

She wrote Here is my full response regarding Mr. Yoho and the culture of misogyny that inspired his actions. I am deeply appreciative of my colleagues and everyone speaking up and out against the rampant mistreatment of women both in Congress and across the country

She continued I do not need Rep. Yoho to apologize to me. Clearly he does not want to. Clearly when given the opportunity he will not & I will not stay up late at night waiting for an apology from a man who has no remorse over calling women & using abusive language towards women.

Kudos to AOC for this very poised, sincere & articulate response to Yoho’s insults.
