As matter of coincidence he was born in India!!
  • Ashok Majumdar A proud moment for all Indians. Let us take some advice from this great economist to overcome the crisis faced by this country.
  • Rubi Gupta Had he been in India, he would not have gained such a glory to us. The same person who does not get his desired credit in India can achieve a lot when abroad.
The irony of India and it is just because of the Indian system.
  • Dharitri Rout Proud moment for us Congratulation sir and Congratulation Kolkata. Something in Kolkata Except one All Nobel Prize winner are from Kolkata. Can Indian experience a better economy
  • Tarak Bhattachariya He studied in University of Calcutta too. Proud to be a X student of this great University. Thanks for making us proud sir.
  • Parthasarathy Sen Congrats the trio – Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer for the Economics Nobel 2019. India especially proud for Abhijit Banerjee. No country can progress without poverty alleviation.
  • Amitabha Majumdar Great that he won the Nobel. But I hope he doesn’t turn out to be a theoritical economist. After all he was a JNU man with leftist leanings. Another Amartya Sen maybe. Who knows.
  • Subhajit Ray Proud of him.. another Indian earned Nobel prize.. proud moment for the country. Don’t bring regional sentiments into all these. His first identity in international arena is as an Indian.. not a bengali or Marathi or Naga..
  • Kunal Ghosh Ravish Kumar won Magsaysay Award which is equivalent to Asia’s Nobel, Amartya Sen had already won Noble Prize in Economics and now again this year, Abhijit Banerjee won the Nobel Prize in Economics as well. What is common in all of them?
  • Rajagopal Velamoor Congratulations that an Indian bagged the prestigious Nobel prize in Economics on an important area of poverty alleviation. What lesson India has on this new trend since the country still has poverty related problems.
  • Ashis Kumar Das What an irony. Both Abhijit Banerjee & Nirmala Sitharaman,FM, are post graduates from JNU….. yet one goes to win the Nobel & the other marches towards the stable……!!! Well, the tukde, tukde branded institution has done it again….
